Rev. Isaac Salgado

Trinity Methodist Church

What are your experiences and areas of service that you believe will be valuable in your role as a General Conference delegate?

I currently serve as Waycross Connectional Community Presiding Elder and as the leader of the Mission Task Force for the South Georgia Conference of the GMC.

While in the UMC, I served on:

  • The leadership team of the conference

  • Board of Ordained Ministry (conference and district)

  • Conference Relations Committee

  • The Committee on Episcopacy

  • Hispanic Ministry Taskforce

  • Congregational Development

  • UMComission Board (Wesley Foundation and College Ministry)

Describe why you believe that God has potentially called you to serve as a General Conference delegate.

I have served churches of different cultures and races, and I believe the local church is God's most significant asset in transforming the world. As we continue to shape the Global Methodist Church, the local church must remain at the forefront of our discussions, guiding our decisions and actions. God is transforming our communities, and we need to be able, through the grace of God, to point the GMC in a direction grounded in scripture, connected in love, and embracing the call to make disciples and to spread scriptural holiness. Through my experience in ministry, I bring a perspective that can help the GMC move forward in its mission.
