Waynesboro First Methodist Church

What are your experiences and areas of service that you believe will be valuable in your role as a General Conference delegate?

I know God has guided me throughout my life to this point, and I hope to contribute meaningfully to the General Conference of the Global Methodist Church. My unique experiences have provided me with diverse perspectives on people and their circumstances. My 24 years of service in the armed forces instilled discipline and structure, while my 33 years as a firefighter/paramedic have shown me both the worst and the best of humanity, highlighting the preciousness of each life. As a husband and father of three grown sons, I understand the importance of a strong family rooted in faith and God's word. As a member and leader at the Waynesboro First Methodist Church, I find it to be daily blessing to be guided by God, and I believe this makes leading others easier. As a General Conference Delegate, I would be honored to share the strong biblical values that led us to the Global Methodist Church on a global stage.

Describe why you believe that God has potentially called you to serve as a General Conference delegate.

Ever since I realized I'm not the center of the universe and saw how awesome God is, I've seen how He's been with me my whole life.  It's so clear now, and I'm not anxious about anything anymore. He's given me confidence and the ability to make good decisions. I've faced tons of challenges, inside and outside the church, but I'm always optimistic because I know God's got my back. As long as I stay focused on Him, His will will be done.  Why do I think God might be calling me to the General Conference? He's good at closing doors I shouldn't go through. If He wants me in South Africa at the General Conference, I'll go. If He wants me in Waynesboro, Georgia, I'll stay. I'm happy to build a church or sweep the floors.
