Rev. Jim Morrow
First Methodist Church of Albany
What are your experiences and areas of service that you believe will be valuable in your role as a General Conference delegate?
"I love the Global Methodist Church! We are witnessing an amazing movement of God in South Georgia, and I'm excited to be a part of it as the lead pastor of First Methodist Church in Albany, GA. In addition to serving Methodist congregations for nearly 20 years, I have served South Georgia Methodism in a variety of capacities over the years. From work on boards of ministry to higher education, I have gained a deep love for the churches of our conference and deep relationships with fellow clergy colleagues. I have taught Certified Lay Ministry courses over the past two years, assisted with Annual Conference planning, and served on a team that assisted our Convening General Conference. I would be honored to serve our conference and our amazing delegation for GC 2026.
I'm passionate about Global Methodism. I enjoy the nuts and bolts of Wesleyan-Methodist theology. I love helping organizations serve their mission and the people. I believe grace will save the world. I am convinced that God has raised up Methodists to awaken the world!"
Describe why you believe that God has potentially called you to serve as a General Conference delegate.
"I would be honored to join the esteemed tradition of past delegations, learn from my friends and colleagues, and contribute to the foundational work of codifying our doctrine and constitution and strengthening the global nature of our church.
I simply offer myself to you as your humble servant. In the words of one of my favorite prayers, ""Let me be put to work for You or set aside for You.... I freely and fully surrender all things to your glory and service."""
