Rev. Allen Cason
Metter Methodist Church
What are your experiences and areas of service that you believe will be valuable in your role as a General Conference delegate?
This June, I begin my 22nd year of pastoral ministry, and my 10th year at Metter Methodist. I have served a 4 point charge, as an associate and senior pastor. I've served on district and conference boards and committees and will be serving as a Connectional Community Presiding Area in the Statesboro Area this coming year. I've seen the church from almost every angle growing up as a PK and during my time in the pastorate. I feel like as a Conference Delegate, I can help bring my experience to help the denomination and to be a representative for the local church.
Describe why you believe that God has potentially called you to serve as a General Conference delegate.
I want to help our denomination live out our mission "to make disciples of Jesus Christ and spread scriptural holiness across the globe." As a pastor of my local church, clergy in our conference, and if elected as General Conference delegate, I want to help the Church keep disciple making at the forefront of all that we do. As potential delegates, we have the opportunity to set the course of our denomination. I believe we ought to do all that we can to help our ministry to look like the ministry of Jesus...making disciples who make disciples who make disciples.
It is a humbling thing to think about representing our conference and to put my name up for election beside these other Spirit-led leaders. Thank you for your prayerful consideration.
